Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is Houston’s premier multispecialty group practice, founded in 1949 by Dr. Mavis Kelsey in Houston’s famous Texas Medical Center. More than 450 physicians and allied health professionals’ practice at 24 locations and an accredited Sleep Center in the Greater Houston area. Medical services offered by Kelsey-Seybold include medical care in 55 medical specialties including primary care and specialty care, outpatient surgery centers, an accredited Sleep Center, a Radiation Therapy Center, laboratory services, advanced radiology services and other diagnostic services, 15 on-site Kelsey pharmacies and a secure web portal for patients to communicate with their Kelsey-Seybold doctors, get test results and schedule appointments.
Kelsey-Seybold has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as the nation’s first accredited Accountable Care Organization and a Level 3 (highest) Patient-Centered Medical Home. Kelsey-Seybold has many physicians in the Greater Houston area certified for excellence in diabetes, heart, and stroke care by the NCQA. In addition to these recognitions, Kelsey-Seybold is home to a nationally accredited Breast Diagnostic Center, Endoscopy Center, Infusion Center and Cancer Center.
Physician – Rheumatologist
At the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic a Rheumatologist is expected to be able to, in a compassionate and professional manner, obtain a complete medical history, document efficiently in an electronic medical record, use diagnostic laboratory and imaging testing, and diagnose and manage a wide variety of rheumatological conditions. The practice of evidence-based medicine and the judicious use of diagnostic tools, with consideration to utility and cost containment are required and an essential part of Kelsey-Seybold’s modus operandi. Skills to interact with patients, staff, and colleagues, are also qualities highly appreciated in the Department of Rheumatology.
The scope of the practice is general adult Rheumatology, and the practitioner will work in the ambulatory care setting with limited and intermittent in-hospital consultation duties.
All members of the Department of Rheumatology are assigned to at least three clinic locations, to provide Rheumatology care in a timely fashion to most of the Greater Houston Metropolitan area and the typical daily schedule is from 8 AM to 5 PM. After hour call will be shared with other members of the Rheumatology Department after being triaged by the call center.
Requires a BC/BE Rheumatologist with Texas licensure.
